Almost ten years after establishing Gneiss Energy as a unique all-sector energy advisory firm, our Founder and Managing Director Jon Fitzpatrick is now stepping into a new role as Executive Chairman.
At the same time David Cooper, our Head of Compliance and MLRO, joins the board as the company’s new CEO. David, a Chartered Accountant, has worked in the regulated financial services sector for over 35 years. Jon and David worked together at Cenkos Securities from 2011 and although their respective career paths diverged, they kept in touch and came back together at Gneiss Energy in 2021.
Commenting on the new appointment, Jon Fitzpatrick said:

Our team continues to grow, and now encompasses expertise in metals and mining alongside cleantech, oil and gas and energy infrastructure, and our next step is to harness the power of secure AI to stay at the cutting edge of energy advisory.
“David Cooper has played a key role in our business for a number of years and is unparalleled in his knowledge of compliance and the heavily regulated environment in which we operate. He is the ideal person to lead Gneiss Energy into our next phase of consolidation and growth.”
David Cooper said:

Jon Fitzpatrick will of course continue to be closely involved in the ongoing development of the firm and his passion, deal making.
