Gneiss Energy is delighted to have acted as sole financial adviser to Specialist Marine Consultants (“SMC”) on its 100% acquisition by OEG Offshore. SMC is a market leader in Offshore Wind support services, providing Marine Coordination, Offshore Asset Inspection, and Maintenance solutions. The acquisition will enable the combined businesses to leverage OEG’s international reach to establish a global franchise in technical solutions to the Offshore Wind Industry.
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Yorkshire, SMC’s team of specialist consultants provide best-in class Marine Coordination, Vessel Inspection and HSEQ support. Since inception, SMC has evolved into a market leader in supplying turnkey services and experienced personnel to the Offshore Wind Industry.
This landmark transaction will see SMC’s market leading Offshore Wind Services expertise combine with OEG Offshore’s international reach. As the Offshore Wind industry expands beyond the core North Sea, SMC will be ideally placed to capture further market share.
