Gneiss Energy is delighted to support future talent through our sponsorship of several student programmes at the University of Dundee.

Our Managing Director, Jon Fitzpatrick, has a long history with the University of Dundee, having been a three time graduate (LL.B (Hons) 1994, LL.M (Dist.) 1996 and DipLP 1997) and, in 2019, was appointed Honorary Research Fellow of the University of Dundee’s Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) within the School of Social Sciences. His strong affiliation to his alma mater has led to Gneiss Energy undertaking an extensive programme of support for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

We support the Robertson Scholars programme, in partnership with the Robertson Trust, which helps Scottish students from challenging backgrounds access a university education by providing financial support throughout their degree.

In addition, Jon Fitzpatrick is an ardent supporter of the Leadership Plus mentorship programme, helping young people achieve their ambitions by providing coaching and guidance to undergraduates.

As well as providing mentorship to students, Gneiss Energy, alongside our sister company Acasta, provides further support for the MSc programme through sponsorship of two awards which recognise outstanding students.

Gneiss Energy Prize for Renewables Transition – Best Student. This award recognises the best student thesis for MSc Sustainability: Renewables Transition.
Acasta Prize for Sustainability – Best Student. This award recognises the best student thesis for MSc Sustainability: Climate Change and the Green Economy.

It is vital that we continue to nurture and support our future talent through continued investment in programmes such as these and Gneiss Energy is proud to play a leading role.
