Ariel Tepperman

Head of Metals & Mining

Ariel is an experienced corporate finance specialist with a focus on the metals & mining space. He has experience of M&A, fundraising and strategic advisory and has led on deals from capital raisings for exploration, development and construction to M&A for producing mining assets.

Ariel earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree (High Distinction) with a specialist in finance and economics from the University of Toronto. Prior to joining Gneiss Energy, Ariel worked for the London based boutique advisory firm NRG Capital Partners as head of their metals and mining practice. Prior to NRG Ariel worked at RBC Capital Markets and Macquarie Capital, originally in mergers & acquisition moving to the metals and mining industry coverage team, which coincided with his move from Toronto to London.

Ariel has advised companies across commodities including precious metals, base metals, niche commodities including critical metals and bulk/industrial commodities. He has significant global experience working with projects globally across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Australasia. His deal experience includes public and private M&A (buyside and sellside), capital raising (equity, debt and mezzanine financing) and general strategic advisory. In addition to upstream mining businesses, Ariel has experience advising companies in the processing and refining space and cleantech companies in the VC space in industries linked to metals, mining, recycling associated “energy transition”.
