Barry Wingate

Barry has over 20 years’ experience working in investment banking, structured finance and financial markets.

He led the coverage of the energy services sector within HSBC’s Global Banking division before working with Buckthorn Partners LLP on the private equity transactions. Latterly he co-founded SquareBook, a fintech startup focused on IPOs.

At HSBC Barry had global responsibilities within the Investment Bank originating and executing a number of high-profile M&A and capital market transactions from the wider energy value chain serving the up, mid and downstream sectors.

Barry’s international and cross-border experience in high profile M&A and capital markets transactions means he has a wealth of connections amongst financial intermediaries, sponsors and corporates.

He holds an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School and an MA from the University of Glasgow.
