Neil is a senior policy and communications specialist with over 20 years’ experience in senior PR and advocacy roles. He works with energy clients to create strong relationships with communities, stakeholders, policymakers and local, national and trade media.
He is an accomplished writer and broadcaster and is skilled in securing quality earned media coverage on behalf of low carbon clients in publications as diverse as The Times, the BBC, New Scientist and Wired. In an increasingly digital world, Neil also helps clients develop class-leading online content, including web sites, photography, video and animation.
In energy policy, Neil has been involved in a number of lobbying campaigns to promote the growth of renewables and has been called on to give expert evidence by the Scottish, UK and Irish parliaments.
Neil cut his journalistic teeth at The Courier and The Sunday Post and freelanced for the BBC and Scotsman prior to in-house PR roles at Nature Scot and Crown Estate Scotland.
In 2012 he established his own consultancy and works with low carbon leaders including Gneiss Energy, West of Orkney Windfarm, Mocean Energy and Gravitricity, and offers each client a bespoke service.
