Scottish Energy Forum: "River Heat for River City"

As a proud sponsor of the Scottish Energy Forum, Gneiss Energy is delighted to be attending the Forum’s upcoming presentation and dinner with Vital Energi covering the Queens Quay Project

Vital Energi will discuss the Queen’s Quay project and share their experiences of delivering the UK’s largest heat pump project and how it now makes substantial contributions to both decarbonisation and the electrification of heat.

Scottish Government has set out ambitious targets for the amount of heat to be supplied from heat networks in the Heat Networks (Scotland) Act 2021. The recently published Heat Networks Delivery Plan outlines steps that the Scottish Government will take to accelerate the development of heat networks across Scotland. However, will this plan be enough to deliver more projects like Queens Quay? Vital Energi share their views, and thoughts on opportunities and challenges for the sector.
Nick Gosling is Chief Strategy Officer at Vital Energi. Vital is an integrated power and heat provider: amongst many other projects, they have delivered over 100 combined heat and power projects, and installed large scale new and retrofit heat pump projects.
Scott Lutton is Operations Director for North and Scotland at Vital Energi Utilities. Scott was project manager for the Queens Quay project which uses water from the river Clyde to decarbonise heating to a large part of Glasgow’s Merchant City.
The presentation will take place at the Royal Scots Club.
